High Seas Expedition: 65 children take to the “High Seas” at our Vacation Bible CampOur church hosted 65 children who took to the “High Seas” for this year's Vacation Bible Camp this past July 19-23rd. The program brought 65 children and 36 volunteers together for a week-long “High Seas Expedition” to explore the mighty love of God!
Our church was transformed into a sailing ship during the week. Each day we all explored a new aspect of God’s word and discovered more about God’s mighty love. God’s spirit was indeed at work, bringing all the volunteers aboard, working in the hearts of the children, and providing for all the many needs of our Camp.

Welcome Emily Wilmarth - Associate Pastor for YouthUpon receiving a confirming vote from both our Congregation and the Presbytery of Elizabeth, we are proud to welcome Emily Wilmarth as Associate Pastor for Youth. Emily is an experienced youth leader and brings years of hands-on leadership to PCW.
Emily’s commitment to youth ministry is evident from her four years experience as Youth Director at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, a large suburban church with an active youth program. Emily began to feel called to youth ministry when she worked as a counselor at Montreat but wanted more experience before attending seminary. She received her MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2008.
Before coming to Westfield, Emily most recently served as a Resident Pastor at Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA and a part of the Lilly Transition into Ministry program, serving Central for two years alongside two other Resident Pastors. This position has given her the opportunity to serve in most areas of church life, and affirmed her call to pastoral ministry.

Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

We extend a warm welcome to all as a witness to Christ’s embrace. As a congregation of Jesus Christ, Christ is at the center of our preaching, teaching, and worship. Clarity about our common center frees us from worrying about boundary issues that exclude people. Christ holds us together.
We are a congregation composed of children and youth, families, single and retired people. We come from many walks of life and hold different opinions about many issues. Only Christ could hold us all together, and we give thanks for how wonderfully he does this in the bonds of tender love. We also are grateful for the way he reveals his holy purposes for our lives and unites us in common mission.
When Christ calls us to be part of the life and mission of his church he accepts and embraces us as we are with all our full life experiences. We welcome everyone with the gifts and calling to serve in all church offices.
