Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples . Luke 11:1
While there is no one way to pray, here is an idea to get started to help you establish and maintain a personal relationship with God.
- Pray on a daily basis: Set aside some time in a quiet place or location, or even go for a short walk around the block. In our youth program, we call this "Get with God" time!
- Take a Pause: Slow down, take a break and start with silence for 30 - 60 seconds. Prepare yourself for prayer. Sit or stand in silence to start the process
- Have a Conversation with God: He knows you, he loves you
- Use the Bible as a resource: Read a bible verse, study it and try to memorize it. Utilize the verses that are meaningful to you
- Recall your thanks: Remember how God has helped you in the past, and think how God will help you and others in the future. Pray for your family, friends, community, your state, your country, your world and oh yes Yourself!
