Meryl Streep stars in the Senior Network’s March movie, “Florence Foster Jenkins,” about a New York socialite who dreams of becoming an opera star despite the fact that she has a horrible voice.

In the 1940s, Florence founded the Verdi Club to celebrate her love of music. She hires a pianist and a vocal coach but even with their help, her ambition far exceeds her talent. The voice Florence hears in her head is beautiful, but to everyone else it is lousy. Her husband and manager, played by Hugh Grant, goes to extreme lengths to make sure his wife never finds out how awful she truly is. When Florence announces her plans for a concert at Carnegie Hall, her husband soon realizes that he’s facing his greatest challenge yet.
