Shrove Tuesday Dinner

February 25, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Presbyterian Women (PW) is hosting this ALL CHURCH FAMILY pancake dinner.  Please come anytime between 5:30pm and 7:30pm to enjoy fellowship and a hearty “breakfast” of pancakes, sausage, bacon, and fruit salad for dinner.

What does “shrove” mean?  The word shrove is a form of the English word shrive, which means to obtain absolution for one’s sins by confession and doing penance.  Why pancakes?  Pancakes are associated with the day preceding Lent, because they are a way to use up rich foods such as eggs, milk, and sugar before fasting season of the 40 days of Lent.

R.S.V.P.’s are being accepted by Carole Cook – 908-789-9097;  or  Jennifer McCall- 908-917-7159.  Free will offering will be accepted.
