Associate Pastor for Youth, Children and Families

The Presbyterian Church in Westfield (PCW) is seeking to call an Associate Pastor for Children, Youth and Families (CLC MIF ID# 04694.AI0) accountable for the overall vision, strategy and execution of the care and spiritual development of the children, youth and families of the congregation. He or she will work with a network of volunteers to provide experiences for the children, youth and families to discover and practice faith, Christ’s teachings, and the mission of the church. He or she will also provide pastoral counseling for all of these ages and groups and seek additional synergies with activities of the nursery school and kindergarten. The AP for Children, Youth and Families will collaborate with the Head of Staff and the Associate Pastor for Congregational Life

  • to actively engage the community in worship through strong preaching and teaching;
  • to develop and train leaders from staff officers to lay persons;
  • to proactively support stewardship and funding efforts;
  • and to drive the engagement in Mission & Outreach, and cross-generational activities that foster transformational encounters with the divine

Associate Pastor for Congregational Life

The Presbyterian Church in Westfield (PCW) is seeking to call an Associate Pastor for Congregational Life (CLC MIF ID # 04694.AH0) accountable for the overall vision, strategy and execution of congregational care and fellowship.  He or she will strive to build connection to the church using imaginative ways to invite participation in innovative programs, including small group ministry, that reach both the congregation as well as the unchurched.  He or she will provide pastoral care in conjunction with Deacons, Stephen Ministers, staff, and volunteers.  The AP for Congregational Life will collaborate with the Head of Staff and the Associate Pastor for Children, Youth and Families

Christian Education Coordinator for Children & Youth (Part-time)

The Christian Education Coordinator for Children & Youth (CEC/C&Y) oversees the planning and implementation of all faith-developing educational activities/programs for children and middle school youth through the Faith Formation and Youth Commissions.  This is a Part-time position (20-hours per week.)

 

The primary responsibilities of the CEC/C&Y include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates and maintains communication with clergy, other staff and commissions in the planning and implementation of the Church’s Children and Youth Middle School Programs
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of special events for children and middle school youth
  • Develops and trains leaders -- providing inspirational leadership to staff, officers and lay-leaders
  • Serves as a liaison between elementary and middle school youth leaders
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of Staff
