SAVE THE DATE FOR VACATION BIBLE CAMP!
We are excited to be offering in-person bible camp this summer during the mornings the week of June 28. Children ages 4 through 5thgrade are eligible for this unique opportunity to grow with God through fellowship, music, education, and art, all while having fun with friends in faith. Registration forms can be found down below. For more questions, please contact email@example.com
Although we cannot gather in person during this unprecedented time, we hope that these AT HOME Sunday School lessons and Mid Week (W.O.W.) activities will help your children grow in their understanding of the scripture lesson, each week.
Kids at our church grow with God together through fellowship, music, education and mission opportunities. Activities throughout the year introduce children to God’s word and how they can participate and grow His wonderful work...all while having fun with friends in faith.
For more information on PCW Kids and family opportunities, please contact Lisa Black, Moderator of Faith Formation, or the Church Office at 908-233-0301.
“Start young when training up your children. Trust that God will bless that training even when they are old.”
Newborn - Age 3
Located in the Christian Education Building, families can drop children off in room 104 for childcare during the Sunday services. Children play with each other and with age appropriate toys and games. The childcare classroom is run by qualified and vetted staff.
Hours: 8am-11am (effective 9/15/19)
Ages 3 - 5th Grade
At Sunday School, the children’s ministry team engages kids with Bible lessons, multi-media activities and play. They learn how to apply the lessons of the Bible to their own daily lives. Children are excused from each of the 10AM services to the Sunday School classrooms in the Christian Education Building. Parents pick up children after the service from the classrooms. Sunday School teachers are vetted and supported by the church.
Ages 3 - 5th Grade
PCW kids are given opportunities throughout the year to better serve their community with their friends. During selected times at Sunday School, children organize and assist in outreach activities such as making care kits for children in foster care, collecting items for troops overseas and making lunches for those in need of a meal. PCW kids have fun while working together on a mission.
Worship on Wednesdays (WOW)
Ages 3 – 5th grade
5PM - 6:30PM • Robinson Room/Christian Lounge • Cherub Choir – Ages 3 - Kindergarten
Joyful Sound – 1st grade - 5th grade (Choir and Bell Choir)
At WOW children enjoy dinner and grow in faith through music, Bible story, fellowship, mission and crafts! The children’s choirs sing regularly in Sunday services.
Parent Study Time
While your children are participating in C.O.W. on Wednesday nights, join our study group. We meet for approximately 30 minutes for reflection and discussion designed to help parents raising younger children.
Time Out for Parents (TOPS)
Time Out for Parents (TOPS) offers parents time to recharge for a few hours one to three mornings per week. Families feel secure that their children (ages six months to two years) are in a caring and safe environment where children develop basic social skills and confidence. Similar to the Presbyterian Nursery School & Kindergarten (PNSK) program, children engage with peers in a fun, play-based learning environment. Operated by The Presbyterian Church in Westfield (PCW) since 1982, TOPS is fully licensed by the State of New Jersey.
AGES 2.5 - KINDERGARTEN
The Presbyterian Nursery School and Kindergarten (PNS&K) is a play-based program (ages 2.5-kindergarten) where children discover the world around them by hands-on experiences guided by highly qualified staff (two teachers per classroom).
Each year our church kicks off the program year with Community Day. Held on the same day as FestiFall in downtown Westfield, this day is filled with community and fellowship starting with one service at 10am for everyone in the Sanctuary. At 11am, we take the fun outside to the front lawn with games, friends and food. We invite friends, family and neighbors to stop by and enjoy the day.
Camp Johnsonburg Retreat
During this retreat, Fourth and Fifth grade students and their parents have a chance to get to know friends from church better, to meet other children from around the tri-state area and to draw closer to God in this beautiful environment. One night away is a great way to help transition from elementary to middle school.
Every December, we invite family, friends and neighbors to attend our live nativity on the church’s front lawn. Church members portray those who gathered for the original nativity. This event includes singing Christmas carols, a petting zoo, hot chocolate and fellowship.
Christmas Eve Family Service
Children of all ages participate in this service as shepherds, angels, wise men, and other nativity characters, while singing traditional Christmas hymns at the 5pm Christmas Eve Family Service in the Sanctuary.
