The Presbyterian Church in Westfield we know today—our prime location in the heart of Westfield, our amazing campus and facilities, and our vibrant organization of lay leaders and staff—are all rooted in the grace of Jesus Christ.

The spiritual practice of generosity is our way of participating in this ongoing outpouring of God’s grace. It’s how we make the invisible reality of God’s grace--the unbidden, unmerited, unending love of God--visible in our own individual lives and in the common life we share as members of the church, the body of Christ.

In the book of Jeremiah it says,

“Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD…They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

In the coming year, you are invited to grow in two directions as well: to deepen your trust in the ever-flowing grace of God, and to grow your practice of generosity in the life of the church.

That’s important in times like these, as the future grows more uncertain and everything gets more expensive. Your commitment to live generously in the coming year will enable PCW to continue to “bear fruit,” even in this inhospitable season:

• offering beautiful and welcoming worship services to the glory of God
• serving our community through the Agape programs and our mission work
• building friendships and faith in our youth programs
• welcoming and nurturing children in the love of Christ
• and providing opportunities to “root down” and “branch out” spiritually to people of all ages and walks of life.
